development for the Province remain the responsibility of the department. This will be achieved through an effective intergovernmental
relations including all stakeholders’ participation.
This mandate is executed in the context of addressing the pressing problems of poverty and social exclusion facing the
majority of the Province’s population, and the increasing marginalization of the poor from global markets. It is much about
